Giannis MVP Social Video

As it became pretty clear that Giannis Antetokounmpo had a strong shot to win the 2018 MVP award, we worked with the Bucks to develop a hype video that would drop the second he was announced as MVP. Working with our in-house design / edit / post-production wizards, the Hive, we concepted, storyboarded, animated and wrote a season’s encompassing video meant to mimic the way Giannis took over NBA fan’s social feeds with his insane highlights. When viewed, we wanted the video to feel like it was taking over your phone. Like Giannis himself was jumping from social medium to social medium and we were all along for the ride. The video began with Kobe Bryant’s Twitter challenge to Giannis prior to the season and concluded with the tweet announcing his MVP award from the Bucks. The video ended up being viewed and shared millions of times across social media the day it was released.
